How I did it: I just didn't buy books for four weeks!   Books are one of the main things I waste money on (that and food and occasionally clothes) so this was really good for getting me in the habit of not spending too much.

It was easy at the start because I had no money.  Also I had a few books that I hadn't read yet.  I borrowed some books off my boyfriend too to help me get to the end of the month, and my sister gave me a book she didn't want anymore.

I've been so busy, and one book took me ages because it was the first novel I've read in German (it was a Krimi that just went on and on and on). 

But I think I need to solidify the habit by doing this again, especially as I haven't gotten around to joining the local library yet. 

So I'm going again.  :)
