How to compost
How I did it: Disclaimer: I'm not sure I'm doing it right but whatever
What I needed:
a neglected backyard full of weeds
a medium sized shovel
dad's permission to ruin the yard(not really)
A radio, so i could listen to npr while i was digging
Then...
I Dug a rectangular hole
collected fruit and vegetable waste in a bin
Put em in hole and cover with crappy backyard soil
when old hole full, I dug a new rectangular hole next to old one
it turns to brown mush later
Lessons & tips: Keep your compost moist. Ants are a sign that the compost is too dry. No meat or grease or it'll become a maggot hotel and be all stinky. Yell at your roomates to not throw compostable stuff in the trash cuz you don't want to pick it out later.
This is the cheapest way to compost. I'm too lazy to raise worms or buy a bin.
