How to go to more concerts
"I'm a concert junkie now."
How I did it: I guess it gets easier to see more bands play once you get older - I wrote this entry when I was like, thirteen years old. But now that I'm seventeen and have been able to drive for awhile, it's gotten so much easier. I've seen Incubus a second time, as well as PlayRadioPlay!, Coldplay, Meg & Dia, Josh Kelley, and best of all, Andrew Bird (one of my personal favorites). It may not be a hugely impressive concert resume, but I'm pretty happy with how this goal played out.
Lessons & tips:
- Make sure to plan everything ahead of time - for me, living in the suburbs means taking the Metra in to Chicago when I need to see a show there (it saves gas $$ and parking annoyances once you get into the city). Make sure you know when your train is leaving, how you'll be getting to the concert, and if you have enough money for food & transportation.
- Don't take everything too seriously; if you're prepared, everything will be A-OK.
