How to travel the world by Laura

"I have a few destinations left in mind, but I've traveled through Europe and Asia pretty extensively."

How I did it: I saved money and then went for it.  My first trip was by myself.  I bought a multi-stop plane ticket and some guidebooks, then spent quite a while planning.  I stayed longer in really cheap places and stretched my budget by walking a lot and not drinking much.  It was awesome, and I especially recommend Thailand.

I still get strong urges to travel from time to time, though.

I am only 16 and I really want to travel to Asia. Mainly to learn about their very deep history. I really am focusing on Japan right now, because of the Bakamatsu and Meiji Restoration.

PS: how much do you think it would cost to go to Japan round-trip from the United States?
