How to organize my closet

How I did it: First I got rid of clothes that I haven't worn in a while and don't anticipate making it back into heavy rotation. Then I laid out all my clothes and separated them into categories. After deciding which would go on shelves and which would be hung, I arranged my closet shelves to just the right height for the things I wanted at each level. Shoes at the bottom, handbags at the top, and all my favorite tops and sweaters in the middle.
