How to improve my knitting skills
"once i got over my fear (read: stubbornness) i just realized that learning new knitting skills was ridiculously easy."
How I did it: i had learned to knit and purl about 3 years ago. i made some scarves, then i kind of went cold on the concept.
between my boyfriend's mother, ravelry.com, and knittinghelp.com i've learned all the basic skills for actually knitting items that are useful and fun, and even learned some cabling. and i plan to continue. chosing projects that force me to learn at least one new skill.
since mid december i've made 7 hats, two cowls, some washcloths, and a couple pairs of mittens.
i wish i had gotten over myself sooner. i could be covered head to toe in alpaca by now. and who doesn't want that, really...
