Good for you!
I have a 15-year-old son who I’m trying to motivate to study a little harder. Good for you for taking it on yourself to improve!
How I did it: I started out the semester with a planner and went through each syllabus to put in due dates of projects and test dates. I set deadlines for myself earlier than the actual ones, and although I did not always make my personal deadlines I always made the actual ones. Also, if you put more effort in at the start of the semester the professors take note and you can step back a little bit (I don't mean slack off!) during the rest of the semester. Also, I had to be very patient -- especially with group projects. It was pretty frustrating working with people who were not as interested in getting As as I am, but I tried to find what did motivate them and use it to get them to do their parts of the project correctly and on time.
Lessons & tips: I think I was a little stressed overall, but happy in the end. Make sure to have downtime. Schedule time to study as well. Try to get things done early so you don't stress about last minute problems.
Resources: My professors, my peers, the library, and the internet.
