How to catch a bird in the act of eating something dead

How I did it: I looked with my eyes and I saw a blue jay eating some of a dead squirrel. Since I have to write a little more, I will say that I sitted next to a dead deer several times but nothing happened. I probably should have sitted farther away.
Lessons & tips: Never expect much from a blue jay. They don't eat much and don't even use their claws.
