How to go to church regularly
How I did it: My husband and I had found a church a few months after we moved here almost two years ago. We went for Advent and Christmas and then jsut stopped going. We let our "busy" lives get in the way. In October of this year, we decided there was no good excuse anymore. We both missed belonging to a church (I haven't attended on regulary since grade school except for a 4 month stint when I lived at home with my parents after college). We made the commitment to each other that only travel or guests would keep us from attending. Now, we are even 3 weeks into an adult "refresher" Bible study course. I really enjoy going and reflecting on the ways I need to change my thoughts and actions. I often leave feeling a little chagrined, but generally I have ideas for how to rectify my lifestyle and choices to reflect God in my life.
Lessons & tips: I needed my husband to help motivate me to go every week at first. Also, don't force a religion on yourself if you don't agree with it and feel comfortable with the congregation and practices. We were both happy with the religion we were raised in, which I think is a blessing for us. However, if you were not, RESEARCH and find the one that's right for you.
