How I did it: I lived in Madrid, Spain for a year in a flat with 4 Spanish guys who spoke no English. Every day was Spanish class. I taught English while living there.
Lessons & tips: Though you'll be told you can't do it without a work visa, that's not necessary. English language schools in Spain will hire you with no experience and no visa as long as you have a passport from an English speaking nation. They are looking for natives.
