How I did it: I went with a group of friends for three days of drunkenness. Other than the initial hotel bookings, there's no need to plan. I'm sure someone had a map or something. I just went with the flow.
Lessons & tips: You don't actually have to flash to get beads. If you have a car, never park it on Bourbon Street unless you want vomit all over it. Make sure you know where your wallet is at all times. I saw myself on COPS when they were filming a pickpocket who did not get away. Make sure you carry tissues with you because the bathroom situation is hell.
