How to increase Traffic On My Site!
How I did it: I put up a blog a couple of months ago. I was getting a few visitors here and there but not the amount I was hoping for!
I looked online for was to increase traffic to my site and was a bit taken aback by all the places so willing to sell you a plan that would guarantee you 1000's more in traffic.
I started researching those and found that not only were many of them misleading but pretty much a scam..
So I decided the best way to increase traffic to my site was the longer harder way. putting myself out there. It came down too if I want people to visit my site I need to sign up and become active in the social web scene.
I had to put my personality out there and show people who I am and what I am about. To be genuine.
I came across 43things and realized I had signed up in 2006 before my move back to ca. I became aware that I had completed some of my original list and realized that this a great way to refocus on my goals and at the same time interact with all kinds of people who not only have similar goals, but also are on a positive path to change not only their life but also their perspective.
I signed up to twitter and started interacting with people there. though at first I was a bit overwhelmed by the multitudes of people on there to promote there sites, I realized that if you don't show your true (authentic) self people will not be interested in reading what it is you write about.
I do Have a myspace profile which I generally have to keep intouch with a few friends, I find I don't really spend much time there...I had deleted my facebook profile some time ago as I really didn't like the site works. I chose not to use those places to interact.....
In the past 2 weeks since I have come back to 43things, 43places,Consuming, and signing up to Twitter and showing people what I am about. The traffic to my site has grown 300% and continues to grow.
For that I would like to Thank each and everyone of you that has taken the time to visit and to return to my site!
Thank You!

I’ll avoid the toxic ones on this site, but once in a while I’ll engage them with some reason. Sometimes it turns out to be a pleasant experience and sometimes they remain in their toxic little domain. I guess I am trying to let my light shine, through.
spottedhazeleyes Yay! what a truly wonderful day!
light shine through
yes there is a chance they will choose to wake up and address the issue. thats great.
thanks for the input.
possibly...
but oftentimes it’s more that they want company in their misery and not much will get in their way is far as that’s concerned.
spottedhazeleyes Yay! what a truly wonderful day!
yes i agree
at that point when I realize that they want company in their misery that is when I tell them that I Choose not to participate and move on! If they choose to cause a confrontation and drama as to why I am so cold or uncaring. I let them know that I do care and that I feel confident when They pull themselves out of it they will truly appreciate my friendship!
then I move on about my life and keep positive thoughts directed towards them and don’t dwell any longer on the if only’s I leave the door open for future positive encounters.
it took a little
getting used to initially, but I’ve learned to spot them right off and not get caught in their web. It’s all about sharing the wealth for this crowd and I have enough doom and gloom to deal with in my own world than to get sucked into any more. LOL

i did the same thing
I closed down several spots on the internet because of poisonous ex-inlaws.
these people would look at my website spread venom between themselves then all get together and ring my phone off the hook all hours of day and night, spam my email to death with nastiness and threats and leave accusatory comments on my website.
I put my foot down, stood up for myself, told them exactly what I felt about all their poison and I choose not to let it affect me one moment longer!
I wrote what I call my toxic response email that told them in no uncertain terms that they cannot harass, manipulate, or control my life in any shape or form. For 2 weeks they continued their Cr** and every time I copied and pasted my response to their Harassing emails. I did this for 2 very good reasons:
1. It lets them know The only response they will ever get from you is a copy of the same notice…
2. If you do need to get a restraining order you will have Documented proof that you have demanded the harassment stops immediately over and over in a peaceful manner and Documented proof they refuse to leave you alone….......
I went back to setting my site up, added everyone of them to my spam list,Blocked every last one of them from my myspace page etc…( blocked even their cousins, aunts, uncles…etc) stopped answering their phone calls, informed them that if they continued to harass me I would get a restraining order and press charges against them.
funny not one of them has affected my mood or my life since that point! It feels wonderful.
Nobody ever has to deal with toxic, venomous people. It is ultimately our personal choice to block poison or allow it.
Even if it is a mother, father, brother, sister, etc…
We have the right to live a positive lifestyle!
I would be more than happy to share my Toxic Response Letter if anyone find their self in need !
