How to knit a sweater
How I did it: I used the Stitch and Bitch book as a reference, and Debbie Bliss Baby Knits for beginners for patterns. Because the baby sweater was smaller it didn't take so long, and was a good way to practice reading the pattern and doing things like picking up stitches for the cuffs and neck.
Lessons & tips: Be patient, buy good quality wool and nice bamboo needles, join ravelry.com because there is lots of good advice and inspiration there. Don't do the complicated bits when you're tired!
