How to do something new every month
How I did it: I decided to do something new every so often, even if it was totally random. Sometimes it was as simple as walking into town instead of driving or walking a different route to the shops. Then I decided to get into baking and cooking different things which I really enjoy. I'd open a cookery book and pick a new recipe each week.
Then there were things like trips. I picked places I hadn't been before. Some of them local, or in the same country and some were abroad. Not all were places I would have originally picked to go but I have embraced this goal with an open mind. I just got up and did things I wouldn't have done before and whilst it stretches your boundaries and pushes you out of your comfort zone at times it's totally worth it.
Lessons & tips: Be positive, you will encounter setbacks and difficulties but the more upbeat you are the easier and better it is.
It doesn't have to cost the earth... you can do things for free... I joined the library.. I went to a knitting group, walked around the local area, painted new pictures etc
Resources: Yes Man - the film with Jim Carrey - totally inspired me no matter how cheesy! But with this goal a positive frame of mind is the key!
www.easyjet.com - for trips - cheap flights
My local area has community centres and sports centres or coffee places where I checked out things on offer.
