How to get a gmail account

How I did it: I had one of my friends tell me about it. Then I had to be invited in. After that I set up an account and filled up my address book, gave everyone my new address and got going.
Lessons & tips: Use your folders!! I get every mail sent into a certain folder and skip the inbox so I don't have to sort through all the emails.
