Pushing the comfort zone is good, though. That would have made me EXTREMELY nervous, also, but it seems like a good life experience, even if it wasn’t worth repeating.
How I did it: I volunteered for the Minnesota DFL (Democratic-Farmer-Laborer) party. My volunteering involved cold-calling people and knocking on doors. Two things I do NOT like doing. It was a good cause, no doubt, but it made me way too nervous.
