How to go snorkeling

How I did it: During my vacation in the carribean, i first attempted snorkeling just off my resort's beach. It was nice - safe, shallow, and I saw a few shells as well as a fish.
The next day, I took a catamaran out to this amazing coral reef and did REAL snorkeling. I saw schools of fish - amazing fish. Neon colored, big, small, eel-like. Checkered, striped, albino. Some were intimidating others, some were feeding. I touched a sea urchin with the prompting of an experienced guide.
Wow. Beautiful salty, turquoise water. I couldn't even BELIEVE the things I saw there!
Resources: Well... the fins and mask both helped quite a bit, as did the tube which allowed breathing. =)
