How to become a member of a church

"I decided even though I have some issues with the church, I would be better off being involved. I will try discussing those issues with the priest and try to make an impact."
How I did it: I went to a service at my local catholic church and had a talk with the priest. He gave me a phone # to set up an appointment to go over joining the church. I decided to go with the local Catholic Church so I can be better connected with my local community.
