How I did it: When I officially moved into the village where I now work I decided to sell my car. I live within a 20 min brisk walk to the train station too so I'm pretty much covered for all my shopping & family visiting needs.

My husband uses the one car we now share everyday to get to & from work during the week. Which means I get to use it on the weekends for my pleasure if I want to.

Lessons & tips: Be aware of the local facilities. I have an hourly bus service to the next town, which convienantly goes straight past my house. On lazy days I can catch it home from work.
