How to learn to sew
"It helped boraden my creative horizons!"
How I did it: My mother taught me a little on her shitty singer when I was a kid, much like everyone else. And from there I decided to make my friends prom dress for her out of the blue when I was 19 and it turned out so well that I decided to keep going. From there it was all self-taught. I'm still learning though, just like we all do! You never stop learning!
Lessons & tips: DON'T SEW WHEN YOU'RE TIRED. Ever. It's far to easy to become frustrated and break your expensive machine. If you feel yourself becoming frustrated, put the project down, turn the machine off and leave it for a while until you've cooled down. You'll find your work will go more smoothly that way.
