How to talk to a stranger
How I did it: Can't really say it was a goal, nor that I can really say how it happened, but it did and I'm really glad it did.
These last weeks, I had bad moments and strange patterns that made me inside for very long periods of time. Recently, has I'm now single and have no much friend around me, I decided to go out and take a walk. I had in mind that I would be open and ready to talk if someone ever intended to talk to me, but not really to start a conversation by myself. And it did happened! I was in a small park, simply breathing the cold air and starring at the falling snow, and a man came to pass by me. As usual in these situations, I smiled at him, and he stopped... and started a conversation! Though I did not agreed with everything (and isn't it to point?), it was really interesting. When I came back home, I decided to do that more often.
But even with that in mind, I was also caught by surprise when it happened today! I was simply walking just before the sunset, the temperature was warm, and I was listening to music as I simply intended to came back home quickly. As I passed aside a man, I saw his face and understood that he was talking to me. I pulled my headphone down, and we started to talk while walking. It lasted something like 5 minutes, and than we partway, saluting each other. Simple, amusing, interesting, and most of all, completely unexpected!
Lessons & tips: Be open. Accept conversation, even if you're not prepared or not exactly in the mood. Smile, and you'll get smiled back!
