How to get off Paxil
How I did it: I regret even taking Paxil in the first place, but after I forgot to take it for a few days and experienced something that was like a flu with weirdo electric shocks I knew I had to stop taking it. The side effects were absolutely unbearable. I gradually came down, saw a naturopath, got some testing done and took 5-HTP and L-tyrosine supplements. The urge to take Paxil again was so great but I fought it because I knew that taking it again would not solve the problem. I will never take an SSRI again, and I'm happy I made this decision.
Lessons & tips: Come down very gradually! I came down 2.5 mg every two weeks, I think. I've heard that taking Prozac can help with withdrawal for some reason but I didn't do this. Get enough sleep every night, make this your number one priority. Eat mostly fruit and vegetables, and small amounts of meat if any. See a naturopath if possible and they can recommend things to take.
