How to facebook less by lucycj

"Worth breaking the habit"

How I did it: I started by trying to only go on facebook once a day. Then I got it down to once a week and now I haven't been at all for almost two weeks. The habit is broken.

Lessons & tips: Be strong! Don't give in to the lure of crackbook! For me it was about will power. I have been on 43T a lot to distract me but for me that is more productive and positive than facebook.

Resources: Set your facebook account to email you for certain things, for example I set it to email me if anyone sent me a message or wrote on my wall. The text of their message comes in the email, you don't need to go to facebook to pick it up.

That’s a great accomplishment!

I get messages every day, so I have avoided that myself because I don’t get any breathing room.

Do you find that having the messages and wall still keeps you too connected, or is it enough to feel totally liberated?

Ah, I don’t get messages every day so perhaps it was easier for me. I have been replying in other ways. Since I haven’t been on, I am getting fewer messages anyway as no one is replying to me or commenting etc.

I went there yesterday to post my drawing and got caught up again in all the inanities for a while, I like myself so much more without facebook.
