How to paint my room
How I did it: Sam and I spent the whole of Valentine's Day painting my room. We did 2 coats of magnolia paint on 3 walls and 2 coats of 'chocolate chip' on the 4th wall. It took longer than expected, though we did have a few breaks to watch Short Circuit and eat lots of treats! It was actually a really lovely way to spend the day together. The paint cost me about £30 in total, half of which my mum paid for. I'm so happy, I've wanted a feature wall for a while and the colour is exactly what I wanted. i've rearranged all of the furniture in my room based around the new wall, i even bought a huge desk with built in display shelves which we ended up assembling at midnight. I feel so much more peaceful in my room now as my bed is by the window so I get nice fresh air at night. I can't believe what a difference its made. I've been sleeping so much better and I love spending time in here.
Lessons & tips: Make sure you move all of your furniture out, that your room is clean and vacuumed, and that you cover the floor with sheets before you start! also, make sure you have lots of nice treats to eat and good music to listen to while you paint :)
