How to process the papers that would make me a bonafide member of the working force of this country
"It was tiring yet rewarding."
How I did it: I visited the websites of the agencies that will provide the necessary papers and checked the requirements to get the papers I needed. I also asked other people who already have the papers about how they did it. Armed with the necessary informations, I went from one agency to another and before I knew it, I got everything I need.
Lessons & tips:
- a birth certificate authenticated by the NSO is very necessary so get this first before anything else
- a valid ID is necessary in doing business with any Philippine government agency so be sure to have one. if you don't have one, I suggest that you get a postal ID from your post office. You can get this on the same day you applied for it and it's valid for 5 years and you can also use it in transacting with banks
- in getting the NBI clearance, I suggest that you get it from a province rather than in Manila. The line at the Manila office is so long you have to be there very early in the morning for you to finish just before lunch. Unfortunately, if somebody has the same name with you, getting the NBI clearance will take quite a while. But if nothing's wrong, you can process this in one day.
- print your pictures in different sizes
