I'll tell you

My daughter graduates on my birthday, this is my youngest daughter, it is the last of my “little birds” leaving the nest so I am going to string them up and hang them from the ceiling on the morning of her graduation. It will be a surprise and a symbolic way of saying to myself, “job well done!” And a fun way to celebrate for her.

i love...

i love that you did this with calendar pages. perfect!

I have been thinking about doing this

I saw a display of 1000 paper cranes in a store window in Missoula on a snowy night a few years ago. It was the most magnificent site! I went so far as to buy some origami paper (though I love your calendar idea) and tried to fold even one but I didn’t do very well. Last night I came across the paper as I was unpacking the last few boxes and I thought I really should add this to my 43Things. And then I saw this on your list! Surely it is a sign!

Oh, and have you heard the album “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes” by George Winston and Liv Ullman? It is absolutely lovely.

I have never heard it

but I will have to take a listen.

I can help you make them if you want.

I looked it up at the library, a few different books. Perfect squares and make all the preparatory folds.
