How to become a philosopher
"Empowering and liberating. "
How I did it: I read volumniously, wrote extensively, debated, reflected, and downloaded copious podcasts on the subject. I studied up on my Kant, Hegel, Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Nietzsche, Rousseau, Locke, Rand, Descartes, Bacon, Hume, and Molyneux. Philosophy is the all-science about the nature of mankind. It is both descriptive and prescriptive. Philosophers do not merely absorb their ideas from the culture, but rather, reason them out from first principles.
Lessons & tips: We all have the capacity to be philosophers; some of us just don't know it yet.
