How to meet andrew mcmahon
How I did it: I'm a huge fan of Andrew Mcmahon. I love his music, both Jack's Mannequin and Something Corporate, and how he overcame leukemia just makes him and even more incredible person. A lot of the newer songs - Caves, Cellular Phone, The Resolution, etc. - are really emotional and raw, and they're very inspiring and easy to relate to for people, such as myself, who know what fighting a disease is like. He is, without a doubt, my hero. So when I heard that Jack's Mannequin would be playing at Buzz Bakesale, a rock concert hosted each year in South Florida, I freaked out. The best part? FYE had set up a meet and greet booth. Buy a CD and you got to meet the band. So I bought another copy of The Glass Passenger, even though I already have both it and Everything In Transit at home. Meeting Andrew? So worth more than one $9 CD. We didn't have much time to talk to him, and they weren't allowing any photos, unfortunately. By the time I got up to meet him I was literally shaking, I was so excited and nervous. I'm surprised he even understood me when I squealed "Iloveyousomuchyou'remyhero!" He was really nice, despite my crazy, obsessive-fan state, and said "Aw! You're so sweet!" He was so nice to everyone, and the concert was, of course, amazing. It was, hands down, one of the greatest moments of my life. (:
