How to get completely soaked in the rain
How I did it: I used to work downtown, and I would park six blocks away and walk so I'd get free parking. On this particular day, I'd parked in my usual spot and left my umbrella in the car because it wasn't raining.
Two blocks later, the skies opened and the heavens started pouring down. The wind was blowing the rain horizontally and it hit you like someone spraying you with a garden hose. I couldn't have gotten more soaked if I'd gotten up before work that day and showered with my clothes on.
There was no time to go back for the umbrella, but it didn't matter. I saw some other people who'd had them and it didn't help at all. I had to wring out my clothes in the bathroom, and my shoes were soaked for days.
Lessons & tips:
- If you walk to work, and you need to look nice when you get there, you should probably think about investing in one of those giant plastic-bag type ponchos that cover your entire body.
- There is a reason why all the rich people buy expensive parking garage spaces to save themselves a two-block walk.
