How to run a marathon by dozenrose

"It was amazing, life changing"

How I did it: I worked with TNT to train for the Nike Women's marathon.  I trained for 5 months.  Didn't run for more than 2 miles at a time before I started training.

It's really great to exceed your own expectations every week. 

Lessons & tips: Do this with friends or a group
Don't do it to lose weight b/c you eat a lot

I think my son and I are going to do this next year.

He is only 8 years old.

But I believe he can do it.

We hike all the time and he is one tough little fella.

You won't lose weight running a marathon?

Hey, I think it’s really cool that you were able o run a marathon. I am chronically bad at sports (except swimming and rollarblading which I do “okay” at).

I really want to lose weight though and I thought being in good enough shape to run 13 miles (gonna do a half marathon) means that I would get into much better shape than i am in now.

hey! i just did the nike women’s HALF marathon. i’m underage so i’m not allowed to do the full marathon yet, but in a year i will. i just finished fundraising in october. my sister and i did it together and we raised 8500 dollars for LLS. it was a life-changing experience. no matter who you are.
