How I did it: Usually when u join the army, they give you a sign in bonus. I got "20,000". After taxes its more like 14,000. You get half when you sign up and the rest half way through you term. So i owed a few thousand and I paid that off as soon as I got home from bootcamp.

Lessons & tips: Don't join unless you want to go to war.
