How to teach English in China
How I did it: I was working at Disney when my friend Susan (Chinese) suggested that I teach English in China. So I said okay. First I finished school, though. That took a year. It's really not very difficult to do, at all. The only problem is finding a school that's actually fair. But the Chinese are pretty dirty people, and I don't really think that this experience has moved me much one way or the other. I'm actually still in China. I'm not homesick, I just want to leave because... well, this place sucks.
Lessons & tips: Before you decide to move here, come for a two week-long vacation. If you don't hate this awful place by then, get a job at the end of it.
Oh also! If you don't have at least a Bachelor's degree, don't come here. Get your degree first. Otherwise, it's not worth it the types of jobs you'll be able to get.
Oh, and don't believe all the stuff you read about not being able to get deoderant, or shampoo or cheese or whatever. You can get whatever you want, here. Of course, I live in Beijing. But I mean, there's a Wal*Mart across the street from my apartment building.
