How to drink absinthe
How I did it: I'm about 16 in an irish bar in the south of france with some school friends on new years eve. it's 12! everyone shouts HAPPY NEW YEAR while my friend passes me my first ever shot. i look at it a little worried "what is this?" she smiles and encourages me, "it's good, just drink it". i count to thee, take a deep breath and down it. after a couple minutes of choking and coughing, i look up at her teary eyed, "wow, what was that?". she laughs "absinthe". i'm a little bit shocked but some what proud and well, a little bit cool, that my first shot was of absinthe. seconds later my embarrasing father walks into the bar and shouts 'COME ON, I'M WAITING OUTSIDE TO TAKE YOU HOME!"
talk about feeling cool....jeesh!
