How to accept and embrace the fact that I can no longer eat Ben and Jerry's Phish Food/ Cookie Dough due to a stupid dairy allergy
"It was initially difficult to cope with the lack of chocolatey fish and marshmallow goodness, not to mention the luscious squish of raw cookie dough, but I have finally learnt to live with the pain."
How I did it: I took it day by day and after a while I began to stop missing ice cream. It does take a while but it really is worth it, trust me. There are so many things that can help you through this difficult time.
Lessons & tips: Do not succumb to the ice cream, no matter how much you miss its glorious melt-in-your-mouth texture or the chocolatey/cookie doughy taste sensations. You do not want to throw up all over your boyfriend/girlfriend's jeans. Not good.
Resources: Swedish Glace Vanilla Soya Dessert (replacement ice cream that actually tastes amazing!) and chocolate sauce that didn't contain any milk.
