How to learn how to use Excel better
"You don't have to be a 'number cruncher' to learn and use Excel."
How I did it: Before I taught Excel, I worked as a contractor on a military base using Lotus 1-2-3. Before I presented a lesson to the class, I had to be well-informed not only on how to perform a task, but also be knowledgeable about common errors made in performing those tasks.
Lessons & tips:
- Become friends with the 'Undo/Redo' Standard toolbar button
- Use the editing and formatting commands found in the Excel context menu (right-clicking a cell)
- Pay more attention to the commands in the Data menu
- Spend some time learning the AutoFill feature
