How to make a skirt
How I did it: I had a pair of denim shorts that didn't fit me right, but I still liked them, so I cut the crotch apart and then cut it so the hem was even and sewed up the flaps. Then for added flair i ripped up the bottom a bit and sewed some sequins on in places. It ended up looking neat, and then later when it was too small, i gave it to a friend who was impressed to be wearing something i had made.
Lessons & tips: Denim is easy to work with, especially stretch. Also, a sewing machine is a smart idea for this, but not for the sequins.
