How to move out of home
How I did it: My dad taught me how to save and manage money
My mum taught me about "The Glory box"
I got myself a job, and started putting money away.
I started purchasing household items to put in the box.
I met my partner.
I Fell in love.
My parents love him too.
He proved to them that he would look after me.
We became DeFacto. My parents signed me off.
We moved out.
Sometimes we're a little short on cash.
But thats after paying the bills.
Our house,
has brought us closer together.
:)
Lessons & tips: Save as much money as you can while your at home!
Start a glory box.
- Its seriously worth it.
$200 out of your pocket for a set of pots and pans doesn't even feel bad when you're at home..
Once you move out, you'll need that $200 for bills.
Wait for the right time to move out.
I wanted to move out when i was 15. I moved out when i was 19, because, I had more knowledge.
Make sure you read all the fine print.
Don't sign yourself into a housing contract without READING everything.
Its a rude shock when you find out, you're not allowed to have more than 3 people live in your house.
Enjoy life at home!
If your house is anything like folk's house it'll be like this:
- no bills (or minimal board)
- Food will always be in the fridge
- And it will cook itself by 7pm everynight
- Clothes will always magically clean themselves
- Electricity never gets cut off
- Internet and phone is free!
- A chauffer is always availiable
- A handy man lives in the house
- Same with a bug killer.
- A maid/cook lives there too
- The pantry is never empty.
:) Just enjoy it!
