How to leave a HUGE tip to a waitress or waiter

How I did it: We where at a really nice restaurant the day after Valentines day. We left an almost 40% tip. Afterward, the husband needed to stop at the restrooms before heading out. The waitress saw me waiting and said she was so glad we hadn't left yet. She thanked me so much for our generosity.
I know 40% might not seem like 'huge', but for us(and her!) it was.
