How to read two books a month
How I did it: I realized that for me to start reading regularly again, I needed to find books that truly excited me. For many years the only books I could muster up the energy to actually finish were the Harry Potter books. It seemed like anything else I picked up would bore me within the first 50 pages. I knew that it was not the books themselves though; it was me choosing to watch t.v. or be on the computer instead. Books are supposed to be an escape, not a burden. So, I started with the Twilight series. I figured they are simple, easy reads, and must have a good story line considering their popularity. It worked - I was completely hooked and read all 4 within a month. From there I chose books that I had always meant to read but had never found the time. The more I read, the more fun it became. I just finished The Mummy by Anne Rice - I couldn't put it down and read it in only two days. Now, instead of turning on the tube when I'm bored, I pick up my book, and I feel great about it.
