How I did it: I found books I'd always wanted to read and made time for them. I read at night after my sister had gone to bed and I read when I had nothing to do. Specifically, 'Wicked' and 'Son of a Witch' and 'The Graveyard Book'. Also I started my arts/education degree which has required novels so that helped. :P
Lessons & tips: Pick something that has always interested you. Read because you want to, not because you think you should.
