khaosinkinema is freezing, but feels a lot better than recently!
Wow, that sounds super cool :)!! I love that you guys really live your dream, and I wish you all the best for your future :D!!
How I did it: It all started like a joke. Me and a friend were thinking about how cool it would be if we would be just like Tokio Hotel. Another friend heard and said why don't we just start a band. But he wasn't joking. For 5 minutes we thought of a cool name, and because we didn't have any ideas we put a stupid name (Metal Hardware). I already had a guitar, the microphones weren't a problem, and we had some sort of drums. We were inspired and in a week we wrote the lirycs for 2 albums. The melody was harder, but we managed to find a good rhytm for some of the songs we wrote. We raised money and bought another guitar. We started having rehearsals at least twice a week. My friends and I started sending letters to places like INOmusic, CatRo, R&R and MegaPro. We talked to people about places where we could record our music and all of the effort got us very far. We got an e-mail that said that after we record the demo we can come and record the proper album. This week we'll record the demo. And next week maybe we'll record the album. Nex step: the Grammies!
Lessons & tips: 1. Never ever give up.
2. Tell people about your band; spread the news.
3. Be optimistic.
Resources: We want to thank the Body & Soul band that managed to get our little band on a list at INOmusic records.
