How to walk the Camino de Santiago
"Very hard for untrained and fat people (like me). :-)"
How I did it: Initially I started in Leon. Walked 15km in my medieval clothes and pretty soon realized that it will not work this way. I sent home 7,5kg including my boots and re-started with 4kg in Sarria. "Only" 112km to walk. Still it was a very tough walk.
Lessons & tips: Throw away all the unnecessary stuff! I walked with 4kg and I still had too much. Drop useless medicine. You are (on the last 100km) never too far away from a doctor. Protect your skin from the sun. I got a very nasty sunburn which nearly made me collapse.
Resources: My parents and brother who believed in me.
My newly made friends on the camino.
My friends who did not believe that I'll do it.
