How to keep a food journal
How I did it: Having an online journal makes it really easy to keep a detailed food journal. Fitday.com is a great resource! It gives you all the tools you need to be successful at recording your foods, giving you nutrients, calories, carbs, protein, etc. There is a place to record your weight, moods, and space to write a written journal about whatever you feel like writing each day.
I'm eating raw vegan living foods and have had a gastric bypass so I needed a way to keep track of my protein intake and this has been very helpful!
Lessons & tips: I record my food intake before I actually eat it. That way I can be sure to write in all of the ingredients I used.I can always edit it at any time.
Just remember to do it every time you eat or at least as soon as you can get to the computer. If you're working or out of the house and can't access a PC, just jot down what you ate on some paper, making sure to record everything you ate.
Go online and calculate the number of calories you want to consume each day to lose weight or maintain.
It's worth the effort!
