Lisa Barker keep positive!
Im going to add this to the list of countrys I want to see. Thanks
How I did it: I traveled with my boyfriend who needed to go for a conference. That made it a lot easier becuase between us we only needed to pay for one plane flight! However, once you are there you can travel very cheaply if you want to - you can also stay in very luxurious hotels if you want.
Lessons & tips: We spent some time in Nusa Dua and then a week based in Ubud doing day trips - the time in Ubud was our favorite.
We hired a driver to travel around which I recommend - we could have rented a car, but there aren't really any signs on the roads to help you if you don't know where you're going...you're better off with the driver.
Resources: I recommend the homestays in Ubud - they are very very inexpensive (we paid US$8/night) but, at least the one we stayed in, was very clean, friendly and served a good breakfast. Ours was called Ayu Homestay.
