How I did it: I thought of all the wonderful things and people in my life that don't require money (or rather, the joy is not derived from having money, but the good that comes of using it, such as donating to an animal shelter). It has made me realize how rich my life truly is.

Lessons & tips: Think of all the wonderful things in your life. Money is hardly the be-all-end-all.

The best things in life are definitely free.
Finding little things that you’re thankful for is a great activity to bring you up. There’s more than you think there are.

I like how you added the thing about making it free stuff. When I think about it so many of the things I depend my happiness on cost money (which I don’t have much of).

I think the very best things in life are free :) I’m a poor student right now, so relying on money to keep me happy simply won’t work!

Freebies of Life

I already do this. During the morning walk I appreciate and be grateful for the various things which I see around me and are part of life but take it for granted for example the trees around me. You may have you own list beginning with your body and a sane mind.
