How to make a mosaic table
How I did it: I cut a round piece of plywood to fit into a large table frame. I bought a bunch a plates of in a blue and green color scheme. I also bought tiles and small colored flat marbles. The design was very simple; it was a spiral that started from the center and got larger. I broke plates - very therapeutic! Also had to use a glass and tile cutter. I stuck the tiles and plates down with mastik. Let it dry and grouted. It was gorgeous. Too bad it broke during a Colorado winter. I covered and protected it, but the changes in temperature caused breaking. It was too big and too heavy to bring indoors.
Lessons & tips: Break some plates - go for it!
