How to get published in an academic journal

How I did it: I submitted my best essays every year to the undergraduate history journal and this year, I also submitted other essays to other academic journals. As of now, I have 2 essays published in two academic journals (1 in history, 1 in political science)
Lessons & tips: Keep on submitting to journal publications! Keeping in mind that I wanted to potentially submit an essay for consideration, I also worked extra hard on my essays. Before submitting essays to journal publications, I also re-edited my essays, incorporating comments from my TAs/professors and making changes where I can.
