How I did it: Toured with Tauck Tours. They were very organized and knowlegable about the best places to see, eat and provided highly educated egyptologists to explain the sites.
Lessons & tips: The best way to see Egypt is on a tour. It is the safest and best way to get around. Traffic in Egypt is terrible especially in Cairo. So I don't recommend any driving there.
