How I did it: There were three things that were instrumental in paying off the card.

1. STOP USING IT - It may seem obvious, but you really have to do it, no exceptions.  I started using my debit card for all purchases instead, which basically forced me to have enough money in the bank to buy whatever it was I was planning on buying.
2. DON'T WORRY ABOUT OTHER CARDS - Focus on one card at a time, specifically the one with the highest interest rate.  Focus on paying only that one off and putting the minimum payment toward any other card.
3. PAY SOMEONE TO DO YOUR TAXES - I have no idea how much this would help other people, but by taking my taxes to H&R Block and paying a guy about 300 bucks to do them, I had a $2,000 refund turned into a $6,000 refund, which covered an entire card's balance all by itself.

#1 and #2 are the most important, but #3 was the most valuable for me personally.
