How I did it: I found other things to do with my time besides thinking about my ex-boyfriend, like pursuing my goals. I got a job, DJ-ed two radio shows, became a political activist, fixed a kite, taught myself guitar, took 18 credit hours of classes...I was very busy, but I explored my own potential, my interests, my city, and the world around me.
